5 day training programme leading to a certification as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Background:
Lean Six Sigma is an improvement methodology to improve the speed of the process and to reduce and control variation. It is a happy marriage between two methodologies developed independently to ensure that processes are designed and work according to the needs of the customer.

Lean Six Sigma implementation is done through trained and certified individuals (Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black belts) who lead improvement teams. The success of the methodology and wide appeal lies in its linkage to financial benefits and/ or improvement in customer satisfaction. In addition, the belts possess through an intensive training and project implementation, a proper understanding of root cause analysis and data interpretation, know how to apply appropriate statistical tools to lend credence to any analysis done. They get a high degree of understanding of process behaviour and thereby can develop appropriate measures to control variation and improve speed of the process.

Duration:
5 days – 6 hours per day.

Target Group:
Any employee with a minimum experience of 4 years in manufacturing or service organisations will benefit from this programme. Consultants, practitioners of improvement methodologies like TQM and Lean Six Sigma, and Corporate trainers would also gain immensely through this certification programme.

Course methodology:
Class room lecture, exercises, games, role play and case discussions,  interspersed with experiences of implementation in Indian companies.

Certification:
This is a certification programme. Successful candidates will be awarded a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate stating that they have attended a training programme and successfully cleared a test (two hour duration at the end of the programme). Unsuccessful candidates can take up the test after a gap of 3 weeks by paying a nominal fee. Only one additional attempt is permitted. If the candidate does not clear the test in the second attempt, no further attempts will be permitted.

Sponsorship:
Candidates can be sponsored by their organisation or may sponsor themselves. Certificates will be mailed to the sponsor after the candidate has cleared the requirements.
